A Definite buy. Great price, great unit. Mar 14, 2005
By Mark Spritzler Like Sarah said, it is a very good unit, very sturdy and looks real nice.
The instructions are a little cryptic in my mind. It looks like an 8 year old drew them. You really have to study the pictures, of which there are only four, to figure out which direction things go, and which parts are which parts. I have to unassemble parts and reassemble them because only one piece was backwards. So don't glue those pieces until you are sure. :) But fixing it actually took a minute or two, since the ahrd part of determining which part to use was over.
I had one screw for the plate that is used to keep the doors closed to the magnets was too small. The head was smaller than the hole for the plate, so when I screwed it in, the plate doesn't stay. So for 89 cents I got some screws at Home Depot.
I ended with four extra screws, but know that they aren't used anywhere.
I am very happy with my choice. I was looking for something nice, holds lots of CD, etc. This piece definitely works for me. :)

Came together very well--must follow instructions carefully, though, or will have to backtrack. Very nice cabinet--exceptionally heavy box to carry inside. Happy with purchase.

Tall Locking Audio Video Cabinet Feb 23, 2006
By Suzanne Fex Excellent cabinet-lots of storage room. Was difficult to put together, though. Instructions not very good. Would have given it 5 stars if the instructions had been better.

Not Bad... Mar 27, 2011
By shadow ...but I do have a few complaints. First, the assembly instructions are unclear and the parts weren't labeled very well, which made the assembly process harder and more time-consuming than it should have been (but I guess I can let that slide because that seems to be the norm with put-it-together-yourself furniture nowadays). The finished product isn't as sturdy as I'd like---don't get me wrong, it's not going to collapse or anything, but I think something could have been done to make it feel a little more sturdy than it does, especially when you try to move it or when you open and close the doors. I admit it's possible that mine is like that because of my assembly job, but I feel confident I put it together correctly. There's also a gap at the bottom of the doors that I could do without---it's not major, but it's enough to allow dust or bugs to get inside the cabinet.
My other main complaint is the door system, which, in my opinion could have been designed a little better. I've found the lock itself to be a little clumsy. The inner latch which locks the other door is working OK right now, but it doesn't strike me as being all that solid or stable.
However, the product looks nice (mine is the oak finish) and there's plenty of room inside. I have roughly 100 total items in mine---DVD's, VHS's, and CD's---and there's still a lot of space left. Another nice feature is that the shelves are adjustable, which gives you a lot of flexibility for organizing the items stored inside.
Overall, this could be better, and I have to say I would expect a wee bit better quality for my money, but it's not a bad cabinet. If you're not worried about details like those I mentioned in the first two paragraphs of my review, I'd say go for it.
